WILL GREEN: There are two types of bankruptcy a person can file. The main difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy is Chapter 7 is going to take a very short time. And you're just going to wipe debts out. Chapter 13 is going to last three to five years. And it's really more about reorganizing debts and reducing debts.

Chapter 7 bankruptcy normally takes about 90 to 105 days. We get the case file. Your hearing is usually 30 to 40 days later. And then your discharge usually comes 60 to 75 days after that.

Chapter 13 is usually going to take three to five years. If your income is below average, you can do a Chapter 13 in as little as three years. If your income is above average, you have to be in the plan for five years.
